Yes. It can take as little as ten minutes and up to seven days. Transferring a number can be a problem. Your previous company must release the number and then Tracfone has to get the cell phone company that will control your number to activate it. Tracfone does not have a cell tower network, they buy their service from most of the major cell phone companies in the US like At&t , Verizon, Alltel, US Cellular and T-Mobile.

If your minutes left do not show on your screen you can go to your menu and click on prepaid. Then scroll down to “Airtime info.” Both your airtime balance and Due date will show.
