So Should you Quit your Cell Phone Contract?
If your contract is over $45 a month and you can get out of it without paying a large end of contract charge then the answer is yes. If you are not a heavy user of a phone and the $30 a month plan will work for you then you should also change to Straight Talk. The $30 “All You Need” plan is a way better deal than most contracts that start you out with 400 monthly minutes and at least a $40 a month charge after taxes.
For most people one of the Straight Talk monthly plans will be the best value Cell Phone service available.

I would recommend ANY person using a cell to immediately get rid of the contract. You will definitely save money by going prepaid, and especially so if you use the Straight Talk plans. This is what I found recently: I was paying more than 150 bucks on three phones in my family. Even using a family plan didn’t help all that much. Then I started looking around and noticed Straight Talk at Walmart. I was a bit worried that the coverage might not be that good, but I found out that they use Verizon towers so I got it anyway.
We now have two $30 ST plans and one $45 unlimited everything plan for a total of $105. But the thing is, we can use our phones much more than we could with our shared minutes we had on contract. And there are never any hidden charges or overages to worry about.
